Home is where the heart is
Live-in care is where a carer lives in your loved one’s home offering the tailored support needed to help them live happily at home. They can help with personal care like washing or dressing, assist with general housekeeping, transportation, cooking and preparing meals and offer companionship and a friendly ear. We would all prefer to stay in our own homes for as long as possible. This is hardly surprising as home is where we often have our fondest memories, surrounded by family and friends (and pets) and all the things we love.

Peace of mind
A live-in carer makes this possible. An experienced carer moves into the spare room providing full time care and companionship. You have the peace of mind of knowing someone is on hand to help them maintain their independence. Looking after a loved one can be a stressful time and it’s important not to take on too much. We can help you put the right care in place allowing you to really enjoy your own free time knowing your loved one is safe and happy.
Carers you can trust
Introductory care organisations (like CareBIG) help you find independent, qualified and experienced local carers. We meet and interview each carer face to face and carry out the necessary background and DBS checks. We also gather references and conduct a values based interview, looking for passionate and reliable carers who want to empower their clients to live happily in their own home.
Everyone is different
We have carers who can be on hand to offer companionship and help with everyday tasks to those experienced with more complex needs like dementia. Whatever the circumstances you can complete our care seeker registration form and we’ll do our very best to support you making the right choice for you and your family.
How it works
Click on the care seeker sign-up button and tell us about your needs. Our live in carers may not have a live profile if they are on assignment so it's best to tell us what you are looking for. We'll do the hard work for you. We use all the information you provide to build up a picture of your loved one allowing us to match you better with our carers. Once matched you are free to message our carers any questions you have about them and their experience, read through their profiles and references and even set up a skype call. Ideally you will meet them face to face and get to know them in person but we understand this isn’t always possible.
How much does it cost?
The basic cost is £695 per week depending on the exact role requirements. This can increase depending on whether the carer needs to use their own car, if overnight support is required or if more than one person in the home needs support.
Continuity of care
With CareBIG live-in care you will have a carer of your choice to support your loved one for 10 hrs a day, taking their legally required breaks intermittently, at safe times to do so. You will typically have the same carer for 4 weeks before a respite carer is brought in for one or two weeks for the primary carer to take a break. We will help co-ordinate the changeovers making it as seamless as possible.
Helping you find the perfect match is really important to everyone at CareBIG. Despite our best efforts we understand that you never really know how suitable a carer is until you have spent some time living together. This is why we consider the first week a carer lives in your loved one’s home as a trial period. This gives everyone the chance to make sure they are happy with the arrangement, leading to better and stronger long term relationships.
